Dion carries additional telephoto lenses and camera bodies that you can try periodically during the tour. It's a great way to experience longer reach, compare setups, or try kit before investing, all alongside your own camera and lenses.
Every departure date is chosen to coincide with peak wildlife activity: puffins in breeding plumage, grey seal mammal pups at their most photogenic, waders at full spectacle. The itinerary follows the wildlife, not a sightseeing schedule.
Backup camera bodies (Canon & Nikon), Kase filter systems and Move Shoot Move star trackers on tours that include astro photography alongside the wildlife elements.

Dion Hitchcock has been leading expert-led photography workshops and wildlife photography tours since 2014. A professional wildlife photographer/guide, he brings over 15 years of experience teaching and guiding photography to wildlife photographers of all levels.
Wildlife photography workshops work differently from landscape sessions. Animal behaviour, light direction, and hide etiquette all require specific fieldcraft that Dion teaches throughout every wildlife photography trip. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced wildlife photographer looking to push further, you'll find the tuition is pitched to where you are and what you want to achieve.
Small-Group Wildlife Photography
These aren't photography trips where you join a coach tour and hope for a good moment. Every wildlife photography trip with UK Photo Tours is led by a professional wildlife photographer/guide who knows the species, the landscape, and exactly where to be at the right time. Grey Seal Pups, Norfolk Coast
For the seal photography, the guide was very knowledgeable about the best spots for good photos. Importantly, he kept us at a safe distance from the seals and ensured we never disturbed them. I'm a big seal fan and it was fantastic to observe their natural behaviour and take some candid shots from a responsible distance. Would thoroughly recommend UK Photo Tours — especially to aspiring wildlife photographers and all the other seal fans out there!

Just returned from my first trip with Dion photographing the puffins on Farne Island. My husband and I learned how to catch those clown birds in the air. Even though we had some inclement weather, Dion was able to change our plans and find another place to photograph the puffins. He has you covered on gear. Everyone went home happy.
This was a shared photo experience with my daughter and Dion made the whole experience very enjoyable and memorable. From the sunrise at Happisburgh lighthouse to the seals at Horsey Gap, a truly informative 4 days. Will certainly be looking to use Photo Tours again in the future.
Our main goal was to photograph puffins. Dion is a cool, calm and collected guide who had a handle on the area we were visiting, and was always ready to pivot when necessary to maximise our experience. Because it was a small group of 5, everybody got the benefit of Dion's input. He made a point of it!
