Action photography at its most spectacular
Each August, some of England's most spectacular medieval battle reenactments take place across Southern England. Knights in full armour, cavalry charges, archery and siege warfare, all recreated with meticulous authenticity. This is fast, dramatic action photography, and it demands technique. Your guide will ensure you arrive prepared.
The pre-event briefing covers everything you need: shutter speeds for freezing fast-moving subjects, continuous burst mode, autofocus tracking, and how to position yourself relative to the action and the light. Throughout the event your guide works alongside you, offering real-time feedback as the battles unfold and helping you adapt to changing conditions and compositions.

Everything taken care of
Equipment: Bring your own camera and lenses. For action photography, a telephoto lens (200mm or longer) and a camera that handles continuous shooting well will give you the best results. A second body as backup is always worth having. We can lend kit on the day if needed, and can also provide an opportunity to try telephoto lenses you might not own. Just let us know when you book.
