England's most iconic coastline: through your lens

Join us on an amazing 5-day / 4-night Jurassic Coast photography workshop as we explore the iconic and beloved landscape of Dorset's World Heritage Coast. From the natural limestone arch of Durdle Door soaring out of the sea at sunrise, to the medieval ruins of Corfe Castle, the dramatic rock shelves of Kimmeridge Bay, and the lighthouse-crowned cliffs of Portland Bill. This tour visits the very best photographic subjects in southern England.

We stay just minutes from Durdle Door in the village of West Lulworth, giving us the priceless ability to be on location for sunrise and golden hour each morning without a long drive. Kase filter kits are available throughout, and Dion provides full tuition on long exposure, ND filters, and coastal composition techniques. Daily Itinerary

5 days along England's Jurassic Coast

Itineraries are flexible. We always chase the best light and conditions.

Our photographic adventure begins! Collected from the London meeting point, we drive through Dorset making a scenic stop at Kingston Lacy's magnificent beech tree avenue, a dramatic subject in any season. We arrive at West Lulworth in the afternoon, settle into our cottage just minutes from Durdle Door, and head to the beach for our first sunset session at England's most iconic natural arch.
Rise early for the dramatic view of Durdle Door as the sun rises behind the arch, one of the most magical sights in English landscape photography. After our morning session, we visit Lulworth Castle to explore the grounds. The castle and its surroundings offer wonderful compositional opportunities, particularly if puddles provide reflection shots. A relaxed afternoon for editing, then an evening scouting session for the next day.
After breakfast we visit the iconic Corfe Castle, a 1,000+ year old fortress dramatically perched on a chalk ridge, partially destroyed by Parliamentarians in 1647. In the afternoon we explore Kimmeridge Bay on Dorset's Jurassic World Heritage Coast, finding compositions along the rock shelves and pools as the tide changes, with the four-storey Clavell Tower high on the cliff above. A golden sunset here can be spectacular.
Today we return to the Durdle Door area for a different perspective, exploring Man O'War Beach, a hidden, dramatic cove east of Durdle Door. After sunrise we make our way to the unique geology of Lulworth Cove, photographing the bay and climbing to Stair Hole. In the afternoon, we drive to Portland Bill where the lighthouse and crashing Atlantic waves make for dramatic long-exposure seascapes in evening light.
A relaxed final morning, perhaps a last sunrise at Durdle Door if conditions are perfect, before we pack up and head back to London. Drop-off in central London (near Warren Street station) or at West Acton. Post-processing tips and a Jurassic Coast resources guide sent to all participants after the tour.

Everything you need to know

No. Single occupancy is standard on this tour, so your own room is included in the price on every departure. If you would prefer to share, a twin-share room is available at a reduced rate.
The price includes 4 nights' self-catering cottage accommodation (own room), return transport from London, all local transport, and Kase Wolverine filter kits to use throughout. Meals are self-catered (supermarket stop on day 1). En-suite room upgrade is +£200. Twin-share rooms are available at From £750pp.
All skill levels from complete beginners to experienced photographers. Dion covers everything from basic camera settings through to advanced long exposure, ND filter usage, and composition techniques. The Jurassic Coast is a superb location for learning coastal landscape photography at any level.
Bring your camera body and your widest lens (16–24mm ideal for seascapes). A tripod is strongly recommended for long exposure work. Kase Wolverine filter kits are provided free. Waterproof jacket and boots are essential. A full kit list is sent after booking.
Easy to moderate. Most locations are reached with a short walk (under a mile). The path to Durdle Door involves a moderate climb down steps to the beach. Kimmeridge Bay and Portland Bill are easily accessible. Sturdy footwear is important but high fitness is not required.
We run this tour in late winter/early spring when the air is clear, the coastline is free of summer crowds, and the light is dramatic. February and March often produce the best moody skies and atmospheric conditions for landscape photography, and at Durdle Door you'll have the arch virtually to yourself at sunrise.
Absolutely. Many solo travellers join this tour and find the small group environment (max 5) creates a naturally warm and supportive atmosphere. Photography holidays for singles are a speciality of ours and the cottage living adds a lovely communal feel to the week.
We aim to be back in London by around 3:00pm on the final day, after a relaxed final morning and the drive back. We offer two drop-off points: central London, near Warren Street station and close to several tube lines, or West Acton station on the Central line. If you have a flight booked that day, we'd recommend building in several hours of grace period before your check-in time in case of road delays.
